Short & Sweet

This post will be a bit short.  DH and I haven't been feeling too well in the past few days, so I don't have too much to report.  Also, you may have noticed that I'm slipping into my Tuesday post habit instead of Monday.  It seems that Mondays are always busy.  I'm not really sure why; that's just how it happens.

I do have a little bit revolving around Roy.  I've mentioned that he likes to visit DH once I've left the house.  Remember that Roy isn't allowed upstairs.  In the past & especially on days that I know Dh didn't get much sleep the night before (work, sick, etc.,) I've put some sort of blockade up on the bottom step.  Most of the time that works.  However, it is also a successful blockade for people, too.  I finally have a good solution.  It was staring me in the face the whole time: a baby gate.  At first I bought the wrong size, so it didn't do any good for weeks.  But now with the extension - Ta Da!

Sturdy baby gate to keep Roy from licking DH awake.
I also have a picture of our dear dejected dog.  While we eat, Roy is not allowed to whine, bark, or beg.  He does like sitting next to us, though.  I'm still unsure if it is to be around us or to smell our food.  Recently he has taken to placing himself in the corner of the dining room.  Maybe it is comfortable, or maybe he feels a bit like he's in time out since he doesn't get to partake in human food.

Roy: alone & depressed in the corner.

  1. Good idea with the baby gate! That extension is awesome! I didn't know you could get them that wide!

Roy doesn't look dejected; he looks tired!

    1. Poor Roy? What about his poor owner? With Roy waking him up every morning, I hear he's but a shell of the saintly man he once was.
