Breaking the rules

Mom and grandma came to visit this past weekend.  We didn't do much, but we had a great visit. Seriously, it was a lot of drinking tea, chatting, some walking, and a small dinner party with Mom's friend from school.

I was planning on Photoshopping these so we had the best bits of each, but it didn't work out that way.  Perhaps another day.

Isaac and his grandma

Isaac and his great-grandma.  Alex joked that she isn't a great-grandma, just a good grandma.  She laughed at his jest b/c she knows she truly is great. I love that they poke fun back and forth.

In other news, Isaac got sick again.  I think this means we are officially done with Mom's Morning Out.  I realize that he will get sick at some point and he needs to get sick from other kids to build up his immune system with kid-germs, but this has been awful.  It was so bad that we considered taking him to the hospital on Sunday night.  It breaks my heart to see him sick and miserable.  He was in our arms most of Sunday and tears would come to his eyes when he was especially feeling bad.  We're sure he had a headache as he wasn't drinking much and was most likely dehydrated on top of his cold.

We have found that when Isaac is sick all the rules fly out the window.  On Sunday he had his pacifier in the daytime b/c he was crying so much.  He sat with us and watched TV (Clifford the big red dog.) I also held him while giving him milk instead of putting him in his high chair.  He even came to our bed for a while.

I am happy to report that he is already on the mend.  On Monday he took two naps that lasted 3 hours each!  Apparently he needed it.  Alex said he hardly spent any time with him at all b/c Isaac was sleeping so much.  He still has a bit of a cough and kind of a runny nose, but it's so much better than it was.

The bad news is that Alex is now sick.  Just in time for his conference this weekend.  We'll, I guess it will be like me a few weeks ago.  Hopefully he'll still feel up for going and today is the worst of it.  I'm staying home this morning to help out since Alex isn't well.  The respiratory stuff really is bad.  I took two days off from work several weeks ago and that is quite unlike me.  Hopefully he is okay soon.

To end on something funny: Isaac has learned how to climb up a box and push a button on the printer in order to get the printer to print out the setting report.  He then grabs them off the printer and throws them on the floor.  We have at least six pages on the office floor now.

  1. Aww! I love the pictures of the four generations! Wonderful!

I'm sorry Isaac has been so sick. I'm glad you all made a decision about MMO. It's hard.

Isaac is a cutie, as usual! My kids use those tests pages when they want paper to color on. Ha!
